Learning Lucid Dreaming – Day 14: Frustration

I’ve been having a hard time remembering my dreams lately. In fact, I haven’t added to my dream journal for the past 4 days.

It’s not totally from a lack of trying, as soon as I wake up I still remember that I need to write down my dreams – I just can’t remember anything. Not even a little sliver.

It’s frustrating, I’ve been making great progress so far and now I’ve seemed to hit a wall

I think it’s a combination of some of the new excitement wearing off along with the fact that I’ve been staying up later the past few days and only getting 5-6 hours of sleep.

I think everybody gets enthusiastic when they first learn about lucid dreaming. A new world where you can do anything you want, better than any video game you can imagine.

Then the excitement wears off. I anticipated this would happen. I usually find things to get excited about and then it fizzles out (I’m looking at you Arduino!).

But I’m not giving up – I’m just going to have to switch my fuel from excitement to discipline. I’m going to have to make sure I get more sleep, continue to write any dream fragments I have (no matter how little) and not let myself get discouraged.
